When Barb & Star premiered on video on demand this February, it felt destined to be a cult film, and lo and behold, solely 9 months later it’s getting cult-movie-style screenings. Per a launch, the Alamo Drafthouse theater chain has introduced plans to convey the Kristen Wiig–Annie Mumolo comedy about middle-aged girls and the culottes they like to theaters for the primary time beginning in September. Alamo Drafthouse is premiering the Lionsgate film as a part of a “Movie Party” sequence designed for audiences to react together with the movie (so sure, folks can sing alongside as Jamie Dornan sings at seagulls), and the screenings will embrace a prerecorded Q&A with Wiig, Mumolo, and director Josh Greenbaum.
